Another unusual concept of the simple throw from The USA

JAMIE'S THROW-INS ARE THROWN OUT BY REFEREES

Sunnybank are fuming after their unique throw-in was outlawed by referees.

Jamie McAllister's acrobatic routine sees him sprint forward, do a handstand on top of the ball during the course of a full somersault, then launch the ball with both hands after landing on his feet. But referee Kenny Milne banned the use of the spectacular throw on health and safety grounds ahead of their Grill League cup semi-final tie with Banks o' Dee. Whistler Milne said: "I spoke to Sandy Roy (manager of the Aberdeen and District Referees' Association) about the 'kamikaze' throw-in. "He told me that it couldn't be used. "The player could seriously injure himself or one of the other players."Due to the health and safety issues, I told them that they could not use it."

McAllister, 24, first tried the controversial throw as a teenager. And Sunnybank refuse to accept that the throw, which he can launch deep into the penalty area, has been banned. Bank boss Graham Freeland said: "We were told before the game that if Jamie used his throw it would be penalised. "I cannot believe that's in the rules. "I will be speaking to Jack Whitehead (North region junior secretary) and the SJFA to see if we can use his throw-in again." Freeland's anger at the outlawed throw was at least tempered by Bank claiming a Grill League Cup final spot.
