Ballincollig Juniors 2009 Managed by Martin O'Neill (Back Left)

It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our friend Martin O’ Neill ( Delta) of Ballincollig AFC. Martin was a true Ballincollig AFC stalwart, a great servant to the club throughout the decades serving as a coach, manager, administrator and as long serving Vice Chairman. His dedication, passion and hard work for the club was truly inspirational and remains a benchmark for others to aspire to. He was a great football man but more significantly a great family man.  On behalf of everyone involved in the Irish Soccer Referees Society Cork Branch may I say that our thoughts prayers and condolences at this time are with his wife Attracta, and children Martin, Yvonne ,Aoife and Cathal.  We also remember Martin’s late daughter Sylvia at this time.

I first met Martin whilst Refereeing a Schoolboys match back in the early 90's and immediately liked him for his wit, and then about 2 years later I Refereed a match between Ballincollig and Mallow Seniors in the Regional Park and Martin on meeting me said "You've made the big time now boy, you're doing MY games"

A Real Legend, who will be missed.
