The Cork Branch of the ISRS would like to clarify a few points which appeared on the Evening Echo 25/8/09 regarding The Article:

"NO SIGN OF AN END TO REFEREES STRIKE AFTER BRANCH MEETING"

1.    There was no proposal for a solution rejected at the meeting
2.    Fixtures for this weekend were not discussed
3.    The Referees Society are always available for comment
 
The CORK BRANCH of the I.S.R.S met on Monday 24th August. At this meeting the Branch committee of the Cork Referees received the full backing from the 90 strong memberships for the stance that was taken to withdraw services. The Cork Branch of the I.S.R.S. have decided to enter into the Dispute Resolution Procedure and have:

Agreed to provide refereeing services with immediate effect in all Leagues.

The Cork Branch have been working tiredly behind the scenes to resolve the current depute and remain positive that a resolution will be worked out between both parties
The Secretary and Chairman of our Branch have been in Talks with Mr Gerry Mac Dermot of the FAI over the course of the day and informed him of our decision and he is aware as per the agreement we are available to referee as from 2pm today.
