Finbarr was a referee in Cork in the 90s and knows the challenges and rewards faced by the men in the middle. Now, in his role as Press Officer for the CBL, he always has kind words to say about referees – spotting things during the game that many don’t pick up on, giving a mention to the third team involved the higher profile matches where there are assistants and being a friendly face for match officials when they arrive at games.
Finbarr’s dedication to grassroots football has made him an invaluable asset to the Cork Business League and he is a very worthy recipient of this award in recognition of his commitment to the game.
