Joy Neville made history tonight as the first woman to referee a professional European game
She officiated as Bordeaux Begles beat Enisey 36-27 to move above the Dragons into second place in Pool One of the Challenge Cup, seven points behind the Newcastle Falcons who maintained their perfect record with a 27-25 victory at Rodney Parade.
In November she was named referee of the year at the World Rugby Awards in Monte Carlo.
The Limerick woman earned 70 caps over an 11-year career with Ireland.
